Metal/Traditional Braces

Metal Braces

Traditional metal braces are the most common type of braces. Thanks to advancements in technology, today's metal brackets are now more comfortable, and  have a lower profile, than ever before. These brackets are made of high-grade stainless steel and are used along with a metal wire to straighten your teeth. With metal braces, you have the choice to add colored elastics (seen on the left) to create a unique, colorful look throughout your treatment.

Clear Braces

Clear, or ceramic brackets, are less visible on your teeth than traditional metal brackets. For this reason, they are most often used for older teens and adults that have esthetic concerns. However, they can be used for all ages. When choosing clear braces for your treatment, it is important to remember are that even though they are less visually prominent, clear braces still utilize a metal wire to straighten your teeth. In addition, they tend to be slightly larger than metal brackets, which means they require even better oral hygiene throughout treatment.

Lingual braces are hidden behind your teeth so that they are not visible when you smile. These metal appliances are uniquely made to match the shape of your teeth, and thus are made just for you! Because of this customization, they are a more costly option than traditional braces but can be a great choice for athletes, models, actors/actresses and adult professionals.
